"Promoting Health Through Movement"

Paul Papoutsakis, CAT(C), CSCS
Certified Athletic Therapist
Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist

Athletic Therapy is the prevention, care and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries by a Certified Athletic Therapist. It involves the assessment of physical function and the treatment of any dysfunction caused by pain and/or injury in order to develop, maintain and maximize independence and prevent further problems.

Your Athletic Therapist is an integral part of a total service that will maximize your performance and individual welfare while nurturing an attitude of positive health.

A Certified Athletic Therapist utilizes contemporary rehabilitative techniques, therapeutic modalities, physical reconditioning, and supportive strapping procedures to promote an environment conducive to optimal healing in preparing you for safe integration into an active lifestyle.

The Scope of Practice of a Certified Athletic Therapist includes the assessment, prevention, immediate care, and reconditioning of musculoskeletal injuries.  Prevention includes musculo-skeletal and postural evaluation, introducing a proper warm-up, conditioning programs, prophylactic supportive taping, and helping you adapt to your activity and/or facility.
